Faerie Dragon

Been meaning to do one of these for some time now, and it finally popped into my head fully formed while kicking around ideas for the mug format I've been playing with recently.

I wanted the rainbow hues of the wings to really stand out, so I decided not to risk any interference with additional colors, thus the body was left black & white. All in all, I'm real happy with the way this one came out.

The line art is approximately 6"x20", technical pen inking on tracing paper (I generally do a rough sketch and clean it up on tracing paper, then do the final inks on more tracing paper to get the cleanest lines I can). The ink work was scanned and color was added in CS5 with a WACOM tablet.

Prints and other goodies will be set for this little guy. He's also set up for shirts and such over on CafePress, though their search is crap, you can find him by tracing the link to the store near the bottom. I'm WBreaux there also.
